Sue and Stan, Simon and Steve

Sue and Stan, Simon and Steve
Stan and Sue Rothwell

Since their arrival in 2014, Stan and Sue have taken to the role of Project Guardians like buffaloes to a waterhole, giraffes to the acacia trees, fish eagles to the air and goats to a latrine ( to refer back to recent events at school!)

Using their huge range of their abilities, experience and watchful care, Sue and Stan have helped WTA make great progress and become more settled and established on the new site. It is hard to write an accurate, new job description for their replacements  as the role encompasses so many varied tasks and duties: teaching, training, playing cricket, discussing the merits of premier league football teams, supporting The Rock, dog sitting, hosting teams, industrial sized Kampala food shopping, supporting the Senior Management Team, harvesting bananas, running film nights, casually spending time chatting to 600 students, taking revision classes, reading stories, playing games ...the list is honestly endless.

We are all sorry to see them go - they will be greatly missed. But we hope to welcome them back as visitors in the near future!

And in other UK news, we want to thank Simon Hunter for being the Serve Direct Treasurer for so many years - we are very grateful for the financial expertise and his endless love of spreadsheets. Steve Richardson has now taken over this role and we are already very grateful to Steve for taking this on and we know he'll do a great job too. Steve and Helen are also  great friends of Serve Direct and in particular long term fans and supporters of The Bridge.
