Happy Reunions
Paul - WTA Old Boy - just graduated with a 2.1 in Education with ServeDirect Old Boy!

" I tell everyone about Wobulenzi Town Academy. I am so proud to have come here and so proud of this place. All the other students on my University course came from those big, known schools in and around Kampala, but I told my lecturers and all my fellow students that I studied from Wobulenzi Town Academy"

Opio Paul, (took A'levels here in 2012), came back to WTA today to visit a younger student but also to meet and thank his teachers for his secondary education. Having just graduated this October from UCU (Uganda Christian University) with a 2.1 in Education,  he was enthusiastic to come back and share his success. It is so encouraging for the teachers (and for ServeDirect!) to meet up with former students later and hear how they are doing. Needless to say, the other Mr Opio (Charles) has already asked him to leave his CV and teaching papers with the admin office.

Girls.JPGVisitation Day takes place once a term and is a real day of reunions, family catchup time and scenes of parents arriving with bags of food, treats and additional pocket money. Today's visit was particularly busy as many parents are also paying the balance of school fees before exams start. Parents started arriving at about 11am - some of them travelling far down from northern Uganda by bus just for the day.

Even Baptist (Head of Security) received a surprise visit from his father, who was also coming to greet a younger daughter in S3. During all the visits, teachers were around to greet parents and discuss any concerns. The Entrepreneurship students were busy selling cakes, liquid cleaning soap and beads which they have been making as part of their Educate business club. The last parents arrived about 6pm, some  were visiting for the first time and were really surprised and pleased by the school facilities and setting.

A good day.

You are never too old for Visitation Day!
