Just in January – 31 days of fundraising specifically for Sports, Music and Drama at Wobulenzi Town Academy

'Hands and Feet' are a small, dynamic, Dutch charity with a unique and direct approach to raising money for those in great need. For just one month at a time, they focus their fundraising on a different project. In January, they are raising money specifically to support and develop Sports, Art, Music and Drama activities at Wobulenzi Town Academy.
Hands and Feet was set up by Mark and Elisa Heemskerk and friends, who previously worked in Uganda and visited WTA on several occasions. During their visits, they threw themselves into coaching and playing football and into some wonderful creative activities at school. Hand and Feet have chosen to fundraise specifically for Music, Art, Drama and Sport at WTA during January. Not only are these four activities a vital and enjoyable way for students to unwind and relax at school, but for traumatised and vulnerable young people, they provide a much needed outlet to develop self-expression, self-worth and self-confidence.
If you would like to contribute to the expansion of Sports, Art, Drama and Music at WTA, please click on the donation link on the Hands and Feet homepage. They are aiming to raise 900 euros this month. And if your Dutch is less than fluent, click on the 'Translate' button at the top of the Home page!
And finally, do watch a short, inspirational film made by Mark from Hands and Feet in 2012, during the Wobulenzi Olympics which clearly shows the passion and love of sport at WTA. The money raised by Hands and Feet will directly make it possible for these activities to play a prominent and much needed role at WTA during this year.
