Bringing life to classrooms
Children at the Connect Education Centre Lukomera

Connect Education Centres do an amazing job by helping to breathe life into the classrooms of the Primary schools that we partner with. Literally tens of thousands of children can be helped through these Centres every year. This short video gives an overview of what they do and how we need your help.

Each Connect Education Centre (CEC) works with the Primary schools that are within walking distance by providing vital resources and interactive teaching as part of their working timetable. We also help with teacher training to promote literacy in a wider area. In the larger CEC in Gulu, we work with READ for Life, who provide intensive teacher training for literacy in around 100 schools in that area. The potential for real change is huge through these Centres. The concept behind the Connect Education Centres is simple but completely unique. We are already looking to build a third CEC...

Nationally, roughly 70% of Primary children do not make the jump to Secondary school. This is a massive dropout rate by any measure. With your help, we can turn this around in the areas we work in.

BUT we need your help. We are asking you to give financially (for a set period of time 1, 2 or 3 years) to help us with the running costs of these Centres. Each CEC needs about £1000 per month to run, representing huge value for money considering the impact they have. Giving towards this is easy - click on the donate button at the top of this page and specify the amount - please use CEC as a reference.

Help us by making this video go far and wide by sharing it with others in businesses, churches, schools, community groups and homes - so please give and share with your relevant contacts. Let's make a real lasting difference.
